On Friday (22. April at 12.00 PM) we had a special WICK with Mr. Dirk Ahlborn, CEO of Hyperloop Transportation and we talked about “HYPERLOOP, ENTERPRISE & CROWDFUNDING”. After a flying car it is another start-up with potential to change the world. A Bratislava to Vienna route could take 8 minutes.
The members of our Junior class spent last week participating in a teambuilding trip to the Planinka mansion. This teambuilding was special because we also did volunteering work. We helped out directly at the mansion, as well as in the nearby village of Dobrá Voda, where they thanked us by cooking us an excellent goulash.
Our student Hana Gajdošová from 1.A is one of the winners of this year’s Mathematical Kangaroo competition, having achieved a perfect score to overcome more than 2500 students from around Slovakia.
Marián Leško and Pavol Sibyla from the “Zastavme korupciu” (Stop Corruption) foundation discussed good state governance, the need for fair competition, and respect for other people. We spoke about the freedom that gives us opportunities that were once unthinkable. But that which fascinates some people may elicit fears in others…
Is it possible that the trains that don’t cost students anything take them to schools that aren’t worth anything?
If we have trains that don’t cost students anything, they may be taking them to schools that aren’t worth anything. If everything is free, it does not mean that we have won.
